Holy Crap It Is April

Posted by Wes Decker on April 6, 2009

Apologies for the late comic this week. I was having internet issues earlier, and not only a busy day but quite a long weekend, and I am TIRED. So here we go.

This weekend I was a rangemaster for the third annual Women’s Shooting Sports Weekend. It was a blast, as usual, and all the ladies had fun too. I was the tomahawk instructor again, so there are now eighty more women in the San Francisco bay area who can not only throw axes, but kitchen knives, scissors, and screwdrivers. Watch out, men. For the rest of you ladies out there, we do this shindig every year, so shoot me an email or leave a comment here if you’re interesting interested in learning proficient and safe operation of all kinds of firearms next spring.

That’s about it for today. I’m pretty freakin’ tired. See you all next week, or I will see you on another time.

That is very confusing.

PS Oh, Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, how I love thee.

Titles Can Be Hard To Think Of

Posted by Wes Decker on March 23, 2009

Sorry for the delayed comic, folks. I had it all ready to go last night, but it was late and I frankly was in no mood to blog. So here we are today! Yay. I’ll maybe think about writing a blog beforehand, but we’ll see. Anyway! Apologies for the SUPER NERDY jokes in this week’s comic, but they were too juicy to resist. Besides, I think you can get the gist of the point of the stuff. Yeah.

So, the Player’s Handbook 2 came out last week. It was pretty exciting, as it marked the return of many classic classes and races to 4th edition, including gnomes, half-orcs, bards, druids, and sorcerers. I was especially looking forward to bards, as they had always been my favorite. I think it must be the “jack of all trades, master of none” aspect that appeals to me. The bard is able step into any of the traditional roles of the party, and temporarily fill it. Of course, the bard can never do the job as well as a class who is designed for it. 4th edition revitalizes the bard somewhat, giving him more usefulness in certain roles, while taking away some of the versatility found in 3rd and 3.5 editions. Also revitalized is the sorcerer, which was always a close second favorite. Basically, to sum up, I really want to play a campaign. Possibly over the summer.

Now that the rest of you have returned from skipping over that long, daunting paragraph, one which Artista will inevitably sum up as “blah blah, bards, versatility, blah blah”, we can get back to reality. Or at least as close to reality as one can achieve over the internets. Stay safe, everyone. I’ll see you next week.

I never thought I’d be happy to hear anything that sounds like Creed,

I Find Your Lack Of Faith Disturbing

Posted by Wes Decker on February 23, 2009

In lieu of a blog tonight, please enjoy this Phoenix original haiku:

a white plastic spork
met three silver spoons last night
stuck-up spoons are dumb

In other news, I am tired. See you all next week.

The little hand says it’s time to rock and roll,

Phoenix

PS This comic is officially posted, because my Twitter says it is.

KFC HAS CHICKEN AND CORN

Posted by Wes Decker on February 17, 2009

Jeezalou pirates are wordy. Hope y’all can read the good Captain’s speech bubbles. Make sure you clicky to enlarge, an clicky again to zoom/full size/etc if need be.

So I actually wrote notes throughout the week on what I wanted to blog today. I KNOW! Hopefully we’ll have more, you know, content and less stammering.

Couple new things here at RHoM.omg: we’ve updated the blogroll found at the bottom of the main page. It should now be easier to navigate, or at the very least you can see what kind of site you’re about to be getting into. Go check some of those links out now! We’ll wait for you.

Back? Good. Check out the new and improved comic archive page. A few of you have already seen its reimagined awesomeness, and hopefully it’ll now be easier on your internets.

For those who are interested in following updates on not only the comic but maybe my life too (STALKERS.), I’ve decided to be more frequent in my twitter updates. Hopefully this will make you all feel more involved in the comic process. At the very least you can feel that much closer to me. And who doesn’t want that?

I know I’ve pitched the Facebook group time and time again (which you should all join), but for those who want updates on when the comic is posted, feel free to join our Yahoo group! I’m still trying to figure it out, but it should be a good way for you non-Facebookers to get notified on when the comic is up.

Lastly, SHIRT IDEAS/REQUESTS/THINGS YOU WANT TO WEAR ON YOUR BODY! Please send any ideas or whatever to rhomcomics@gmail.com! I’ve been checking that more often, but there is NOTHING THERE. Sad. =( Send us feedback, or leave it in a comment here. Woo. See you all next week.

There is a god standing here with wet hands,

Mmm… Popsicles…

Posted by Wes Decker on January 19, 2009

Holy crap why is that place so bright. Also two new characters in one week! Alrighty then. I’m thinkin’ it’s about time to give some “classic” characters some love. Switzerland has been on my case about the absence of Eugene in recent comics. I’ll see what I can do, buddy.

Did everyone enjoy their holiday weekend? It was nice to have an extra day. We’re using that as an excuse as to why our comic is late. So there.

Happy Inauguration Day tomorrow! I don’t need to tell you how wonderful and equalizing and whatnot it is. Just turn on the tv, log on to the internet, or open a paper, or something. So… I’ll talk about something else instead. How bout them cylons? Pretty frakking intense. Eh, who am I kidding? Tune into the inauguration tomorrow. History in the making, etc. Hope we’ll watch it in class…

The four right chords can make me cry,

Phoenix

PS Anyone else hoping that this movie would end up being something like “The Adventures of Batman and Boromir”? That’s something I’d watch.

Gahh Frakking Title

Posted by Wes Decker on January 12, 2009

My gods there is something about that color of polo shirts that screams, well, something. You can fill in the blank as you wish.

Spring semester started today for me, hense the late-ish post. Well, it’s still Monday, so it’s not late. We’ve been on time or early every comic this year so far! Whoo! Let’s try and keep that going. That’s our resolution to you, the readers. In return, your resolution to us should be to tell EVERYONE YOU KNOW about our comic. Spread the word, people!

Well, if you will excuse me, I’m feeling a little under the weather. That’s all the blog you get for this week, people. See you next week, with exciting new developments for our heroes!

When I’m sick, I stop being sick and be awesome instead. True story.

I Can Never Remember What I Want To Blog

Posted by Wes Decker on December 14, 2008

So the new wordpress dashboard layout is weird. And somehow it doesn’t want to upload the comics correctly. So I’ve got to copy code from previous posts and edit them to post the new images. Tragic, I know.

On a different note, here is a list of things that someday I hope to say with sincerity:
-“foolish mortals”
-“shields up, weapons online”
-“I don’t know how you broke into my secret moon base, but I swear it’s the last mistake you’ll ever make”
-“hand me my jetpack, let’s get out of here”

I’m sure that list will grow. How was everyone’s weekend? Cold? Rainy? Awesome? Or all of those just the same thing? Because I know they are. Seriously though. It’s getting chilly out there. Make sure you bundle up, kids.

Also, don’t you hate it when people verb made-up nouns? I know I do.

I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you.

Phoenix

PS oh my gosh amazing. Thanks, Audra.

Wie Sagt Man DINOSAUR

Posted by Wes Decker on November 23, 2008

Today’s television adventures included Jurassic Park on Telemundo, Mythbusters, and the British House of Commons on C-SPAN. I gotta tell ya, British politics is a spectator sport. American politics have got nothing on those Limeys. I’m sure some of the “best of” House of Commons meetings could be found on the youtubes. I’d recommend checking it out.

Here’s a break from OMGDRAMA. Plus, I’m sure you were getting tired of Charlie and Rose. Figured we should see just what Wednesday and Paige have been up to. The usual, it seems.

Happy (American) Thanksgiving in advance, everyone. Hope you all have safe trips back home, as the case may be, and enjoy family time and such. See you all next week.

Indeed.

I Still Like His Shirt

Posted by Wes Decker on November 17, 2008

I don’t have a lot to say this week, other than Death Knights are pretty awesome and as I am posting this I’m watching an infomercial on the spanish channel for the Magic Bullet. No joke. It’s definitely making my hungry. Maybe I should ask for a Magic Bullet for my birthday…

Sorry folks for the downer comic. Bummed myself out a big just writing it. Promise we’ll be back next week with more comedy and less tragedy.

Sedagive! Give him the sedagive!

Phoenix

PS Seriously. Magic Bullet in spanish. I suppose it’s bad that I’ve seen this infomercial enough in english to know what they’re saying.
